Christine is trained as a CBT Counsellor, with 17 years experience. She has taught Counselling with a model of CBT at a Further Education College. Christine has had success with her clients by teaching them the tools from CBT, as a take home therapy; empowering them to change unhelpful negative thinking.

CBT counselling is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle. CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. You’re shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel. Unlike some other talking treatments, ‘CBT generally deals with the present. CBT can also dip into the past to understand where some unhelpful rules/thinking may come from to enable change.’
