I am writing this testimony as an endorsement of Chris Benfield, I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. A big part of this is to do with my weight I have always been larger framed however I am relatively intelligent and know the good and bad things to be eating. My issue has always been self control and the will power to continue on a healthy eating life style. I was initially referred to a eating disorders clinic, however there scope for CBT is extremely limited and based around a disorder, I have no disorder I had an unhealthy relationship with food, whilst I was keen to explore what CBT could do for me. This is the point I choose to speak to Chris to see if she was able to assist me. Even after our first meeting she offered such great insight into the human mind and how my unhelpful think was effecting my eating. With Chris’s help I was able to set sensible targets and relieve myself of decade’s worth of unhelpful thought processes. Whilst my time with Chris was brief the effects will last a life time. I can highly recommend this therapy to brake the cycles we all find ourselves in.
