Around April 17 I had a massive event where I was totally overwhelmed by my anxiety. I had just completed my first year of university and I was going through a particularly nasty breakup. I had attempted to seek help through the NHS for CBT but it was not available. A close family member knew how important it was for me to receive CBT which is when we found Chris. I was nervous before my first session as I hadn’t had the best experience with ‘talking therapy’ so I was curious to see what CBT was like. On meeting Chris I immediately felt at ease as she was very friendly and welcoming. The place in which my session was held was a calm and relaxing environment. Throughout my sessions with Chris we examined my past and how it has influenced my current behaviours. During the sessions we explored and changed unhelpful thinking to be more helpful thinking. Now feel I can handle anything that comes my way. My self esteem is the highest it’s ever been and I really feel I am valued as a person. Over the space of just 9 sessions Chris has really helped me change my life for the better. I would definitely recommend Chris, both she and CBT changes lives.
